Alright, so I am going to be giving something a try this weekend that I hope will help me in the long run. I am going to try decluttering my life. And the best and only way for me to learn to properly declutter my life is to watch the Netflix series on such things. It was talked about on Gilmore Girls, which is my touchstone for reality obviously.
My closet is being sorted, the items that I keep around me will be tossed, it’s time for sure. I am just going through everything and see if I actually need any of it in my life, and I will ask myself ‘Do I really want all this?’. It’s hard going through your personal items and figuring out what needs to go. I will admit though that I am a packrat trainee, I got nothing on my grandma though (she had newspapers from 1981 in her basement.) But I am getting pretty damn close. I have some clothes with me that have been around since I was 11 and I am now 24… terrible.
I am even going through all my books! That I think is personal growth that I am even considering parting ways with a book. I have read all of my books at least once, so it’s really sad to get rid of them, but it needs to be done. I am not really sure how many of them are around, but I do know that when we moved I needed two large boxes to pack them…
So supposedly I have to put all my stuff in the center of the room and figure out if it brings me joy or not. That’s all I know so far, I really need to actually watch the show to understand completely what it is that I need to do, ’cause I know it is not that simple.
The show is called Tidying Up with Marie Kondo there is also a book which was mentioned in Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life, but I forget the title, it might be the same thing. It had ‘magic’ somewhere in the title for sure. I am going to try and see if this will help me. Although it did not work for Emily Gilmore, maybe it will work for me. Once I watch it and get a better idea of what is needed to be done, I will inform you all.
Until next time…
